Pittsburg artists inducted for 2016 Hall of Fame

The Class of 2016 honors the Anderson Sisters, Terrence Brewer, Dan Daniels, Rosie Gaines, Luis Gutierrez, Walt Hill, Zilfert Johnson, Chris Lanzafame, Steve Lopez, Peter Riso, Curtis Ohlson and Ozeal Warren.

Jazz guitarist Terrence Brewer, keyboard player extraordinaire Dan Daniels, community woodwind player Chris Lanzafame and Los Angeles Times columnist and author of 'The Soloist' Steve Lopez were voted into the Pittsburg Entertainment & Arts Hall of Fame in balloting by PEAHOF members.

The four will join gospel stars the Anderson sisters; Rosie Gaines, best known for her time with Prince as a vocalist and keyboard player; artist Luis Gutierrez; singer and music producer Walt Hill; choral directors Zilfert Johnson and Ozeal Warren; bassist Curtis Ohlson, who played and toured with Ray Charles and Buddy Rich; and drummer Pete Riso, who toured with jazz legend Cal Tjader, in the 2016 Induction Class.

"We are so pleased with the 2016 Induction Class," said Theresa Jones, chair of the PEAHOF Induction Committee. "It again shows the diversity and depth of talented artists we have in Pittsburg in the fields of music, fine arts and literary arts."
