Pittsburg artists inducted for 2016 Hall of Fame

The Class of 2016 honors the
Anderson Sisters, Terrence Brewer, Dan Daniels, Rosie
Gaines, Luis Gutierrez, Walt Hill, Zilfert Johnson,
Chris Lanzafame, Steve Lopez, Peter Riso, Curtis Ohlson
and Ozeal Warren.
Jazz guitarist Terrence Brewer, keyboard player
extraordinaire Dan Daniels, community woodwind player
Chris Lanzafame and Los Angeles Times columnist and
author of 'The Soloist' Steve Lopez were voted into the
Pittsburg Entertainment & Arts Hall of Fame in balloting
by PEAHOF members.
The four will join gospel stars the Anderson sisters;
Rosie Gaines, best known for her time with Prince as a
vocalist and keyboard player; artist Luis Gutierrez;
singer and music producer Walt Hill; choral directors
Zilfert Johnson and Ozeal Warren; bassist Curtis Ohlson,
who played and toured with Ray Charles and Buddy Rich;
and drummer Pete Riso, who toured with jazz legend Cal
Tjader, in the 2016 Induction Class.
"We are so pleased with the 2016 Induction Class," said
Theresa Jones, chair of the PEAHOF Induction Committee.
"It again shows the diversity and depth of talented
artists we have in Pittsburg in the fields of music,
fine arts and literary arts."
